Self-Portrait Explorations are excellent activities for me to connect with others, enhance my art style, and practice drawing real-life people as cartoon versions of themselves.
My primary goal with these explorations are to capture the essence of the person I draw. I want their physical features to be abstracted, but for their personality and soul to still shine through my artwork. I find it important to deliver strong works for others so that they are pleased with the outcome. I also iterate on my own self-portrait to keep up with my present-day appearance.
Thus far, I have been commissioned by one person to design a portrait for them.
